Uncompromising documentary about devastating global food waste.
It sounds almost unbelievable and yet is a sad reality: nearly 50 percent of all food is thrown away — whether by consumers or even earlier by the industry itself. No one likes this truth and yet everyone takes part. Why? The documentary seeks answers and interviews stakeholders such as waste management officials, supermarket managers, farmers, and chefs around the globe. At the same time, it highlights alternatives to wasteful behavior and ways to foster greater appreciation.
